This past week, we had a lot of fun learning about Dr. Seuss and his wonderful books! On Monday, we read the Cat in the Hat and made our own cats. On Tuesday, we read Hop on Pop and did some rhyming activities. On Wednesday, we read The Foot Book. On Thursday, school board member Mr. Thomas came in and read the story "Green Eggs and Ham" and we had some jell-o green eggs! On Friday, we read "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish." Things have been very busy in K6 the past few weeks. We are getting ready to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday this week. We started working on our Science unit on Fabric! We will be learning about fabric for the next couple of weeks!
Happy February to everyone! Yesterday, we talked a lot about Groundhog's Day and made a prediction on whether or not the Groundhog would see his shadow! Today, we will find out what really happened! We are getting ready for Valentine's Day now as well. A lot of hearts will be popping up in our classroom!
Good Afternoon! We had an exciting day in K6. We started right off with lunch because of our 2 hour delay! We met our new Superkid named Frits! He loves fishing and the letter F! In Math, we practiced counting to 100. Tomorrow, we will learn about Martin Luther King Jr.! We will learn all about him and do a project!
Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a very relaxing Christmas Break! I am looking forward to seeing everyone back in school on January 3rd! We will be welcoming a new student into our classroom, Caleb! We will also begin celebrating John S. Clarke Elementary School's 30th Birthday!
The past week or so has been very busy in K6! We have learned the letter S and are now working on the letter L . The students are doing a great job sounding out words and we started writing words on our own this week! I'm very proud of their progress!
We finished our chapter in Math and took our test on Tuesday! We ar We finished our bulletin board display featuring the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, and Max. We also made Christmas cards to send to Mr. Reichert and his unit in Afghanistan! The students did a beautiful job! December is here and our classroom has transformed into a winter wonderland! The students have been patiently awaiting the arrival of an elf friend, and on Friday, he finally arrived! We had a vote and decided to name him Jo-Jo! The students are excited to see where he will be hiding on Monday.
We will meet our new Superkid friend on Monday as well. His name is Sal and he loves the letter S and sports! We had a great day back at school today! We met our new friend, Amelia, who joined our classroom today! Everyone did a very nice job welcoming her to our classroom and showing her the rules!
We drew a picture and wrote a story about what we did for Thanksgiving today! It seems like everyone had a very nice Thanksgiving Break! We had a long and busy week in Kindergarten last week. We have been working very hard getting ready for Thanksgiving. This week may only be 2 and a half days, but we will fill it with lots of things! We will meet a new Superkid and learn about 3d shapes!
Today in school, we will be celebrating Veterans Day! I posted pictures of our bulletin board that we made for this special day. We made cards to thank soldiers for their service to our country. I will be sending these cards to my husband's unit who is currently training for their deployment to Afghanistan. They will be thrilled to receive these cards. The kids put in a lot of hard work!
We also will be finishing up our Golly books today. On Monday, we will meet our next Superkid! |
