Mrs. Reichert is currently on Maternity Leave until January 23, 2017 to enjoy time at home with her son, Elliot Jack Reichert! Although I miss the kids a lot, this time at home is very treasured! I hope to hear good things about students following all the rules we practiced for the last 11 weeks of school! While I'm gone, you will be learning a lot with Ms. Santai and will be starting to read when I return! I can't wait to see the progress you all have made while I am out! See you in the new year!

The first week of school is halfway over! The kids in K101 are really starting to get into the groove of the classroom! We are really working on learning the classroom and school rules! The students are collecting PRIDE cash as an incentive system! Dr. Gerace gave one of our students a PRIDE dollar for being so quiet in the hallway! I am proud of how they are growing! We have a long way to go, but I am looking forward to this school year!
Well, better late than never, right? I have completely forgotten about our class website so I apologize to anyone who may have looked at it over the last two months! This is a great way to see what is happening in the classroom! We have been really busy learning about the letter C and O over the past few weeks and I hope your child(ren) have been talking about Cass and Oswald! We have been doing so many journal entries in our writing journals and I am can't wait to show all the parents at conferences! You will be extremely proud! In Math, we have been doing a lot with numbers 0-10 and I am happy to report all the students can recognize these numbers, which makes the work a lot easier! We will soon be starting 11-20 so please start working on these numbers at home!
We have also learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin! The students were very interested in this and are excited to cut open a pumpkin tomorrow to see what the inside looks like! In sad news, we said goodbye to Ms. Lewis on Friday. Ms. Lewis accepted a new job and we were extremely sad to see her go! We wish her lots of luck in her new job and hope to see and hear from her soon! In the meantime, we will be on our own for a little while until a new aide is hired as a replacement! I am not worried because the students in K101 are doing such a wonderful job this year! Our kindergarten year is in full swing and the students are really falling into place within the classroom. We have been moving right along with all of our classroom work. We have just started talking about Halloween and doing projects for our bulletin boards.
Our students have been practicing their behavior and manners in school and this month will be using a sticker chart to track their progress. Each day the students do not lose any minutes of recess, they will earn a sticker for their chart. At the end of the month, they will get to choose a prize depending on how many stickers they have earned! Keep up the good work, kids! Our Kindergarten year is off to a great start! The students have been learning letters and numbers and are practicing following directions! We have been having great behavior! I am really looking forward to this school year!
We had a great week in Kindergarten this week! We've been working with ten frames in math and learned our new Superkids, Tic, Tac, and Toc as well! The students earned a lot of fuzz balls in our classroom bucket for great behavior in the hallway! We've received a lot of
After a very nice and relaxing break, it was great to get back to school today! The students had a great day! We did a math activity with hot chocolate and marshmallows! We even were able to use the iPads in class today! The students did an excellent job working with the games!
I hope each student and their family has had a wonderful holiday break! I wish everyone a safe, happy, and healthy new year! See you in 2013!!
Our classroom was surprised yesterday when a package came for us! It was a box that had an ELF in it for our room! We picked a couple names and voted and we decided his name would be Alfalfa!
Wow! I cannot believe that I have not updated this site in a month! I apologize if you are checking here! We have been so busy!! We are cruising along this school year and I can't believe that today was the 61st day of school! Now that we are further in the school year, homework being sent home will be getting tougher and after the holidays I expect to be giving it on Tuesday nights as well. I have been getting a great response of homework being done and I can tell the difference that it makes when parents are working with their children at home, so THANK YOU!
