On Friday, we had our PRIDE program and most of us were able to watch the pep rally given by the high school cheerleaders, football team, and band! It was a great time! We said good-bye to our friend, Anthony, who is moving away. We will miss him a lot!
I am sorry I haven't updated this week! We have been very busy working in our classroom! We cleaned up all of the Halloween decorations and now are ready to celebrate Veterans Day on Friday! On Thursday, we celebrated National Sandwich Day and made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to eat!

Today in school, we carved our pumpkin! Our pumpkin is a scared pumpkin with a spider on his head! We also made a pumpkin mosaic and took our math test! All the students are excited for our Halloween activities tomorrow!
Today in school, we will be working with Cass and learning how to write the capital C. We will play alphabet bingo and learn the number 5 in Math!
Also, I finally have my camera back so there are some pictures uploaded on the page of things around our classroom for Halloween! Click on the picture to see it full-size! Today, we learned about Pumpkins in science class! We learned that pumpkins come in different shapes and sizes. Each group had a pumpkin to look at and draw. Some were tall, some were short, and some were tiny! We then learned about how a pumpkin grows. We made a cool pumpkin activity! Ask your child about how a pumpkin grows!
On Monday, we met Cass! She is our first Superkid we are meeting this year. We did a lot of activities with her yesterday. We searched a picture for letter c's and pictures that started with the /k/ sound! We drew her picture and wrote her name. We also started a letter book and drew pictures of different things that start with the letter C! We used clown, cloud, cookies, and coconu
The students came into school today to find their seats changed into groups! The groups are named after my five favorite Seuss characters! We have the Cat in the Hat group, Grinch Group, Sam I Am Group, Max Group, and The Sneeches! The students were excited! When Mrs. Reichert or Miss Lewis sees a group working hard together, the group will get a star on the board! The group who has the most stars at the end of the day will earn an extra hole punch in their reward charts!
Today, we will be starting our new story, "The ABC Book." We will also learn about Christopher Columbus and do a Halloween Activity for our bulletin board! Today in school, we will have a program about Fire Safety! We will make a book in our classroom with important things to remember about Fire Safety! We will also read a book about the fire station! We also will finish up our story "Peter and the Wolf" so look for them in your child's folder tonight! We will take our Math Test today on Patterns!
The students came into our classroom this morning and was surprised by all the Halloween decorations!
We did activities for our story, "The Tug of War" and learned the letters R,S, and T! We started a new set of centers today. We have a fishing letter recognition game, letter stamping, computers, a balloon popping game, and a listening center Happy last day of September! We are taking down our leaves and fall decorations and changing them for Halloween! Today, we are finishing our story "The City Mouse and the Country Mouse," so look for the books in your child's folder tonight. We are also taking a mid-chapter Math Test today on Patterns!! The students are doing a good job learning about patterns!
Congratulations to Luci, Jaden, Henry, Brenna, Kole, Emma, and Julie for being the first students to complete their punch card! These students were able to pick from the Treasure Chest on Monday for a special treat for their awesome behaviors for the first 20 days of school! Keep up the good work!
Today in school, we will be finishing our book, "The Nightingale." Be sure to go over the story at home with your child. We will also be working on some patterns with Johnny Appleseed! |
